Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Welcome back. IntelliSchool is excited for our first day of school on Wednesday, August 18th. We are looking forward to getting back to some sense of normal and can’t wait to see our students and help them get back on track towards those diplomas.

We will be returning to in-person learning on our normal schedule. We understand that some students have special situations and will need the kind of flexibility that IntelliSchool is known for. If you fall into this category, please contact your principal to discuss how we can make the year work for you.

Please be aware that we will continue to follow our mitigation plan and all protocols to keep our students, staff, and families safe. Due to a new law, one change to that plan is that students will be strongly encouraged to wear masks, but not required to do so. All of our staff will be masked and vaccinated to provide the safest environment possible. Students that show symptoms or refuse to follow protocols will be sent home for the day. There will be options to continue with academics if students are forced to miss school due to illness.

We know the last year has been tough on everybody, but we are optimistic that this year can be a positive and productive one for all of our students.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

We have reached the end of a school year unlike any other. Thank you to all students and families for pushing forward through these unique times. IntelliSchool is looking forward to getting back to normal next year. We do not have all the details of how normal things will be yet, but our focus will certainly be on staying safe and supporting students. I can assure you that we will continue to be flexible and accommodating in finding the best solutions for every student.

Enjoy the summer break, we look forward to seeing you all on the first day of school, August 18th.

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

The governor has rescinded the mask requirement for Arizona schools, leaving districts to decide what is best for their schools. IntelliSchool will continue to follow the mitigation plan that has been in place to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. This means we will continue to require that masks be worn by students, staff, and visitors to the schools.

We will update you as soon as there are any changes to these policies.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

In compliance with the governor’s executive order, IntelliSchool will be reopening for hybrid in-person learning on Monday, March 22nd, the day after our spring break.

Students now have the option to continue to participate in the distance learning program or to return to campus on a hybrid schedule. As Maricopa County still shows transmission levels to be at a substantial level, students will be scheduled in groups to maintain social distancing guidelines through reduced attendance. Please contact your principal to discuss your schedule.

Staff will be available on campus and online Monday through Friday from 8am to 8pm to support all students.

Be aware that we will continue to follow our mitigation plan and all protocols to keep our students, staff, and families safe. Students that show symptoms or refuse to follow protocols will be sent home. We are excited to see more students back in the classroom and finish the year strong.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

IntelliSchool has reached the end of the first semester. We continue to monitor the data from the AZ Department of Health Services and the advice from the AZ Department of Education. As of now, we are continuing with our distance learning program and we will update you as soon as anything changes.

During this difficult stretch, IntelliSchool staff is working hard to engage students, and will continue to find solutions if students communicate their issues. We understand that for some students there have been many distractions from schoolwork, but we must all find ways to stay focused. As a small school, we have the luxury of being able to work closely and individually with each student, but only if students log in and join us. If your student is having a difficult time, please reach out to staff. Counselors are offering online support groups and we encourage all students to join in if they are struggling to keep up with school.

IntelliSchool wants to help students succeed, however we can. Please contact your principal and discuss your situation with them so they can find the best solution for you and your family.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

IntelliSchool has recently become aware that two members of our Chandler school community have tested positive for Covid 19. One of the individuals was last on campus at our Chandler location on Nov. 13th. The other was last on campus on Nov. 17th. Although we are operating as a distance learning school right now, there were a few students that came to campus those days. Out of an abundance of caution, we want to inform you all of this potential exposure to the virus. Please see the attached materials regarding symptoms and testing.

Our schools will continue to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and all of our family members. We will also continue to monitor the data and advice from the AZ Department of Health Services and from the AZ Department of Education.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

IntelliSchool is approaching the end of the first quarter. Our school has decided to continue distance learning through the next quarter, while increasing the on-site services available to students. Students, staff, and family safety is our top priority as we make the difficult decision about the right time to bring students back to the campus. We continue to monitor the data from the AZ Department of Health Services and the advice from the AZ Department of Education. If you have any questions, please call your principal.

Some district schools are returning to in-person learning and others are waiting. As expected, some parents agree with the decisions to reopen and some disagree. IntelliSchool has decided that we can provide the most flexibility to our students and their families by remaining online. As a small school, we have the luxury of being able to work closely and individually with each student. Subsequently, we want to hear from each student and determine what we can do to best support them through this school year. Some students may benefit from scheduling on-site time, while others may need more structured online hours with a teacher. Many of our students are participating in online support groups led by our counselors and we encourage all students to reach out if they are interested.

IntelliSchool wants to help students succeed, however we can. Please contact your principal and discuss your situation with them so they can find the best solution for you and your family.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

IntelliSchool thanks you all for a great start to the school year. Although we have been operating remotely, students and staff have been engaged and productive. Please continue to communicate regularly with staff and let them know what you need. We are here to help you in whatever way we can. Remember that teacher, counselors, and administrators are available from 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday. Classroom Zoom sessions are happening every day and are open to all students. Please reach out to staff about attending them if you haven’t already.

When we decided to open for distance learning this summer, we set October 15th as the earliest possible date for reopening the schools. As we approach the end of the quarter, we are regularly reviewing the data from the Arizona Department of Health Services in regards to when we can safely reopen the buildings to all students. We will let you know as soon as a decision is made, and we will give you ample time to decide what is right for you and yours.

Please continue to be resilient by staying engaged and productive. Don’t let anything deter you from your goal of graduating. Principals are happy to discuss any issue a student may be having and help find a solution.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians and Students,

Your IntelliSchool staff is excited to see you online for our distance learning program next week.

We have been busy preparing for the new school year. We will be open on Monday, August 17th, and operating remotely until at least October 15th. It is important that we all work together to keep students motivated through this unprecedented time. Please encourage your student to log in and participate in classroom activities every day. Our expectation is that students log in during their session each day and communicate with teachers, counselors, and administrators so that we can support them as best as possible. With your support and our students’ resilient nature, we can have a productive year.

When we return to campus, we will do everything possible to keep all students and staff safe. Please see the linked Mitigation Plan and On-Site Learning Plan which will be in place for the foreseeable future at all campuses. If you have questions about anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your staff for clarification.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent

Parents, Guardians and Students,

IntelliSchool will be starting the school year on August 17th. With the intention of being as safe and as flexible as we possibly can for our students, staff, and families, we will begin the year online with only distance learning until at least October 15th. All students and families will have full access to teachers, counselors, tutors, and administrators from 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday. There will be online teacher led instruction every day. Our curriculum is computer based, so students will not lose any work when we do transition back into the classroom. We will be releasing more details on this distance learning plan in the days to come.

If you are a parent or student with special circumstances that will require onsite learning opportunities and support services, please contact your campus principal. Principals will be returning from summer break on Monday, August 3rd, but will try to respond if you reach out to them sooner.

Please keep in mind that this plan is subject to change based on new information from the Arizona Department of Health Services or any new executive order from the Governor.

We appreciate your understanding and patience in this uncharted environment. With your support, we are confident that our resilient students will thrive this school year.

Sincerely,
Mick McElhinney
IntelliSchool Superintendent
